Mining Fleet Workshop Manager
A large-scale mining operation in West Africa is seeking an experienced Mining Fleet Workshop Manager to lead workshop maintenance operations across a high-pressure mixed OEM fleet environment.
This is a senior operational leadership role responsible for driving fleet reliability, workshop performance, maintenance execution, technical discipline, and operational uptime across a large heavy equipment fleet operating within demanding mining conditions.
The environment consists of approximately 240 machines across CAT, Volvo, and auxiliary support fleets.
The successful individual will play a critical role in establishing and strengthening workshop systems, maintenance structures, reporting disciplines, planning processes, accountability standards, and overall operational maintenance performance.
This role is best suited to a practical mining maintenance leader with strong heavy equipment exposure and proven experience operating within production-driven mining or contractor environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead all workshop maintenance operations across the mobile mining fleet
• Drive fleet reliability, equipment availability, and uptime performance
• Establish and improve workshop systems, maintenance structures, and operational controls
• Manage workshop planning, reporting, scheduling, and maintenance execution
• Oversee preventative maintenance, breakdown response, and component management activities
• Lead technical teams across mixed OEM maintenance environments
• Improve workshop discipline, technical accountability, and operational performance standards
• Work closely with engineering and operational leadership onsite
• Ensure maintenance activities support production requirements and operational continuity
• Support ongoing improvement of workshop efficiency, structure, and maintenance culture
Fleet Environment
• Approximately 240 machines
• Mixed CAT, Volvo, and auxiliary fleet structure
• Production-driven mining environment
• Heavy earthmoving and mining fleet operations

Minimum Requirements
• Proven experience managing workshop operations within mining or heavy earthmoving environments
• Strong exposure to CAT and Volvo heavy equipment fleets
• Experience leading large-scale mobile equipment maintenance teams
• Strong understanding of workshop systems, maintenance planning, fleet reliability, and operational controls
• Experience operating within remote African mining environments advantageous
• Ability to lead multicultural technical teams within demanding operational conditions
• Strong practical leadership capability with hands-on operational understanding
• Comfortable operating within high-accountability, uptime-focused environments
